The designer Charlotte Rohde (b. Aachen, 1992; lives and works in Berlin) has helped define the style of her generation. A visual artist, typographer, and writer, she explores how typography as the interface between image and language informs feminist discourses in our societies. Reflections on pop culture, power, and hyperfemininity, the exaggeration of female features, tie her multidisciplinary yet always language-based works together. She is currently an associate professor at Bauhaus University, Weimar (2022–2024), where she teaches typography and type design.

Her artists’ book You Loved an Image, with designs and visual interpretations by Tatjana Stürmer, combines writings between poetry, prose, essay, and diary entry, graphic design and art, and experimental typography to examine the semiotics of contemporary femininity.
